BMW ABS module (1st generation, 1994-2000)
Price:
300.00 β¬ + VAT
The BMW 1st generation ABS unit was used in several BMW motorcycle models from approximately 1994 to 2000. This is one of the early BMW motorcycle ABS systems, and over time its operation may become unstable due to wear, electronic faults or hydraulic component problems.
Typical failure symptoms include flashing ABS warning lights, ABS fault after starting the motorcycle, system not activating, diagnostic fault codes, and uneven or completely missing ABS operation.
This type of fault should not be ignored, as the ABS system is an important safety feature, especially during hard braking or on low-grip surfaces.
Repair is possible, carried out by a specialized service, and provided with an official warranty.

Description
The BMW 1st generation ABS module is one of the early BMW motorcycle ABS systems used in several models from approximately 1994 to 2000. This system helps maintain motorcycle stability during braking and reduces the risk of wheel lock-up.
Over time, these ABS units may develop different faults related to electronics, the hydraulic section, sensors, internal valves or general system wear. Sometimes the problem appears immediately after starting the motorcycle, and in other cases only after some riding time or repeated system activation.
Common symptoms:
- ABS warning lights flashing on the dashboard;
- ABS fault appears after starting the motorcycle;
- ABS system does not activate or does not complete its self-check;
- ABS function works unevenly or disappears completely;
- diagnostic faults related to pressure, valves, sensors or ABS control unit;
- ABS fault returns even after clearing fault codes;
- the system may work only intermittently;
- braking safety may be reduced on low-grip surfaces.
If these symptoms appear, continuing to ride while ignoring the ABS fault is not recommended. Although the motorcycle may still brake without ABS function, a faulty ABS system can reduce safety during emergency braking, on wet roads or on gravel.
What the repair includes:
- initial inspection and diagnosis of the ABS unit;
- electronic section inspection;
- hydraulic section inspection;
- identification of common faults;
- repair or replacement of damaged or worn components;
- testing after repair;
- preparation for return to the customer;
- official repair warranty.
Installing a used ABS unit is not always a safe solution, because a used unit may have a similar age-related defect or an unknown history. Repairing the original unit allows you to keep the motorcycleβs original system and restore its operation.
How the process works:
1. You complete the repair request with motorcycle and ABS fault information.
2. We check the submitted information and contact you if clarification is needed.
3. The ABS unit is removed from the motorcycle.
4. You send the ABS unit to us, or we help organize collection from your address.
5. The unit is sent for specialized repair and testing.
6. After repair, the ABS unit is shipped back to you.
7. You reinstall the unit on the motorcycle and perform a system check.
If you are not sure whether your motorcycle has exactly this ABS unit, fill in the request and include the motorcycle model, year, symptoms and, if possible, photos of the ABS unit. We will help identify the correct ABS type.
The repair is provided with warranty. Warranty conditions apply to the repaired ABS unit, but do not include removal, installation, transportation or other external work costs unless agreed separately.
